ALBUM NOTES......................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Darling and Bhuyan have dedicated this album to Nature and Mother Earth, to all humanity and to the Classical composers who inspired them as they were learning music. Darling and Bhuyan grew up together in orchestra in Elkhart, Indiana, where there was a fine music education system from elementary through high school, and where their teachers at school as well as their private teachers were also very inspiring, introducing them to the great classics. Both went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Music. They also played tennis near their childhood homes at McNaughton Park where the river, tall oak trees, squirrels and birds, fresh air, sunshine, and a bubbling spring from which everyone could get fresh cold water on a hot summer day .... inspired an appreciation and love of nature. These elements of nature are reflected in the various numbers ... a relaxing tribute to the calmness that time in nature brings ...... the "symphony" of the different sounds: birds singing, water flowing, the breeze through the dancing tree limbs, the patter of dancing rain, the clap of thunder, the varoius colors of flowers and of the setting sun, some pale, some vibrant, the creatures scattering about... squirrels....and also the "silence" that can be found in nature. Disc 1 closes with a prayerful "Monastic Chant" Disc 2 closes with a very quiet and relaxing lullaby "Our Lullaby for Our Children". Both Darling and Bhuyan have a profound interest in the importance of a good education, including music education for all. Darling continues as the Artistic Director and leader of workshops run by his organization "Music for People" (www.musicforpeople.org ) which teaches improvisation to people of all ages, levels and musical background. Bhuyan a former music teacher, mentors young musicians and works on advocacy for music education in our schools. Both perform at various functions......... David Darling is the 2010 Grammy winner for Best New Age Album, "Prayer for Compassion"...... See www.daviddarling.com Album nature photography and design by Jacqueline Bhuyan and Anita Bhuyan.
