ALBUM NOTES.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Darling and Bhuyan have dedicated this album to Nature and Mother Earth, to all humanity and to the Classical composers who inspired them as they were learning music.  Darling and Bhuyan grew up together in orchestra in Elkhart, Indiana, where there was a fine music education system from elementary through high school, and where their teachers at school as well as their private teachers were also very inspiring, introducing them to the great classics.  Both went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Music.  They also played tennis near their childhood homes at McNaughton Park where the river, tall oak trees, squirrels and birds, fresh air, sunshine, and a bubbling spring from which everyone could get fresh cold water on a hot summer day .... inspired an appreciation and love of nature.

These elements of nature are reflected in the various numbers ... a relaxing tribute to the calmness that time in nature brings ...... the "symphony" of the different sounds:  birds singing, water flowing, the breeze through the dancing tree limbs, the patter of dancing rain, the clap of thunder, the varoius colors of flowers and of the setting sun, some pale, some vibrant, the creatures scattering about... squirrels....and also the "silence" that can be found in nature.

Disc 1 closes with a prayerful "Monastic Chant"

Disc 2 closes with a very quiet and relaxing lullaby   "Our Lullaby for Our Children".

Both Darling and Bhuyan have a profound interest in the importance of a good education, including music education for all.  Darling continues as the Artistic Director and leader of workshops run by his organization "Music for People"  (www.musicforpeople.org ) which teaches improvisation to people of all ages, levels and musical background.  Bhuyan a former music teacher, mentors young musicians and works on advocacy for music education in our schools.  Both perform at various functions......... David Darling is the 2010 Grammy winner for Best New Age Album, "Prayer for Compassion"......   See  www.daviddarling.com

REVIEWS..................................................................................................................................................

"The music on this album is beautiful.  I find it relaxing and inspirational when I paint for hours in my art studio.  These two artists definitely play in concert with each other.  Looking forward to more music from them...........................Lin Kahoe, Professional Artist, Colorado

"Outstanding!....such beautiful music in this recording of superb quality.  It is so relaxing as I see the mountains in Switzerland in my mind in all their beauty." .............................Phyllis K. in Indiana

"I really like this 2-CD set.  They are so relaxing with different moods in them."..............Joy in Arizona

This 2-CD set consists of duets by Jacqueline Tschabold Bhuyan (piano) and David Darling (cello).  The music put me in a relaxed state with images of an impressionistic painting of nature.  I heard imagery of the rain, the wind, birds, waterfalls and other sounds of the earth interpreted through music.  The cello and piano made lovely conversations interweaving tonalities, textures, breath and rhythm.  There was a certain simpatico between Jacqueline and David.  I wondered, "who is this woman that plays so relaxed and complimentary with David?"  As I read the liner notes I discovered that Jacqueline and David grew up together through the orchestra in Elkhart, Indiana.  Not only did they play music, they also played tennis in a nature filled park, gathering the influences for this CD, "Improvisations for Cello and Piano".  They have dedicated this album to Nature and Mother Earth, to all humanity and to the Classical composers who inspired them as they were learning music......
